David's Story

David was one of our very first salespeople.

Although growth wasn't initially his main goal, his openness to new ideas became his greatest strength. Starting as a trainee fundraiser at Ignite in Melbourne, David welcomed feedback and new challenges, constantly pushing himself further.

By committing to ongoing self-education (he literally devoured our digital audiobook library), seeking mentorship, and embracing growth opportunities, his confidence and leadership skills continued to grow.

With these skills and his experience from Ignite, David seized the opportunity to open our first overseas office in New Zealand, and through hard work and discipline, quickly turned it into the company's top-performing team.

After his journey with us came to an end, he applied everything he had learned to start a new career with a leading New Zealand real estate firm. Today, he's a recruitment manager at a prominent Sydney-based company.

David's story makes us all proud; it shows that with an open mind and the right skills, endless opportunities are within reach.

"One of my most memorable experiences with Ignite is when I won a sales competition and got an all-expenses-paid trip to Cambodia to see firsthand the work of the Fred Hollows Foundation, which we were working on behalf of at the time.

I got to really see how my efforts in inspiring regular givers transform into people having their eyesight restored. I will never forget when I was in the hospital and was asked by the doctor if I wanted to help the patient remove the post-op eye patch.

The expression they had when he was able to see for the first time in years really brought the whole thing full circle and made every rejection on-field worth it.
